As of 1st April 2022, something great happened. The Government announced VAT free on energy saving installations within Domestic environments. This includes air conditioning systems (units that provide a heat and cooling function) and air source heat pumps. The units must be bought and installed by the same supplier, and lucky for you Recycled Air are able to do just that, especially as you have landed on this page 😊
Air conditioning works by using a compressor that circulates a refrigerant through a sealed pipe network that boils at a very low temperature (this can change depending on the refrigerant type and pressure). The difference in temperature between the environment and the refrigerant can generate either subcooling or super heat, this can then be transferred into heat or cooling capacity. Which is then distributed to your home allowing you to heat or cool an individual room rather than your whole house. In real terms you don’t need to spend money on heating a room that you’re not using, and therefore wasting time and money doing something that is not required.
E for Electric and E for Efficiency.
Electric air conditioning systems and heat pumps are not only carbon-neutral but also are energy efficient to use and good for the environment, for every kw put in you get a kw converted to heat or cool air. Comparing this to a Gas system where it can be approximately 50% more efficient, in heating mode this can be even more so. A huge saving for homeowners of 20% will be offered for up to five years, ending in 2027.
Electricity is generally cheaper than alternative traditional fuels, typically because energy is starting to be generated by wind and solar panels, in turn this helps with supply challenges and sustainability. It also reduces the likelihood of taxation price increase on electricity in comparison to Gas.
We have recently completed a conversion for a customer utilising economy7 heating and installed an air conditioning unit in every room. The client has reported substantial savings against their previous daily usage and is extremely happy with the flexibility to utilise heating and cooling all day and night on demand, rather than having to have a fixed time period of energy consumption and release.
Now is a good time to consider changing how you heat and cool your home with a system that adapts to the seasons.
